Streetbroadcast launches national digital advertising network
LONDON - Streetbroadcast is launching the UK's first network of roadside digital screens, called StreetLive, which will transmit both static and video advertising with HD quality.
Streetbroadcast aims to have 300 digital 6 sheets installed by the end of the year and 1,000 by the end of 2009. The first 25 sites are being installed in major cities and shopping centres, and will be live on July 1.
Glasgow city centre is the first in the UK to have the digital screens installed, with 10 prime locations selected by the council.
Coventry and Liverpool will be next, followed by Birmingham, Edinburgh, Enfield, Gateshead, Leeds, Manchester, Newport and Sunderland in the ensuing months.
The digital screens allow advertisers to place their internet, mobile and TV campaigns out-of-home. Advanced bookings have been taken from Pepsi, Thompson, 3 Mobile and Robinson's.
The technology also allows councils to deliver speedy emergency messages when required. Streetbroadcast has trained the councils involved how to access the screens remotely and schedule their own messages.
