UK executive to lead IPM expansion

IPM, the outdoor agency, is opening an office in Vancouver ahead of the 2010 Winter Olympics in Canada.

The division is to be run by Toby Strangewood, a UK-based account director who has worked predominantly on managing IPM’s Initiative and BSkyB accounts.

Branded IPM Canada, the division is set to open in March and will initially focus on the Winter Olympics.

Strangewood, who will leave the UK this month, will report to IPM as well as Chicago-based Outdoor Services (OSI), which is also owned by IPM’s parent company, Interpublic Group (IPG).

Reporting directly to OSI vice- president Craig Alexander, he will be working with domestic IPG clients in Canada, as well as IPM’s international clients and agencies.

The management of Strange-wood’s accounts at IPM will be taken over by Paul McCormack, who joined the company from Kinetic in November.
